BRENNAN: "This is what the F.B.I.  absolutely needs. A lot of people are complaining that the F.B.I. and the C.I.A. and others didn’t do enough to try to uncover what Russia was doing. This is exactly what the F.B.I. was supposed to do and thank goodness they did it because it did give us insight into what they were up to. This is what I think is going to serve as the basis for Robert Mueller's continued investigation and he has already identified individuals who have violated the law. And these confidential human sources, just like in any type of narcotics sting or any other type of criminal activity, this is essential for the F.B.I. to be able to do its work.”
