Rand Paul on Tax Cuts: ‘Every Working Person in the Country, in February, Is Going to See More Money in Their Check’

‘I’d like to see more on the individual side but not less on the corporate side’

RUSH EXCERPT:

PAUL: "I think the thing is people get confused about tax cuts. Let’s say you pay $1,000 in taxes and we give you a 99% cut. You get a $990 tax cut. Let’s say you pay a million and you get a where’s put cut and it’s $10,000, we say the guy that paid a million or the corporation that paid a million is getting $10,000 and the poor person is getting $99. They got a 99% tax cut. A lot of this is demagoguery. I’m not saying that is with regard to Marco’s comments. I haven’t heard them. With regard to the idea that the rich got too much and the poor didn’t get enough, this tax cut is hey weighted to the middle class and the working class. Every working person in the country in February will see more money in their check and I think that’s what we should be doing, leaving more money in the hands of those that work hard for it and I think there was a lot of corporate tax cut here. I’d like to see more on the individual side but not less on the corporate side. If we get economic growth which many of us think we will, I’d like to come back and do more on the individual side, particularly at the top 1% and top 5%. They pay most of the taxes."
