Thiessen: If Saudi Arabia Wants To Be Part of the Modern World, It Can’t Give a Wink and Nod to Wahhabism

‘He’s cracking down on some of these clerics and saying we will not do that anymore’

RUSH EXCERPT:
THIESSEN: "There certainly could be, although the other interpretation of that is, quite frankly, the Saudi government has been giving a wink and a nod to the clerics who have been preaching radicalism as long as they weren’t focused on Saudi Arabia. As long as it was externally focused, then it was okay. The prince goes by his initials, he’s cracking down on some of these clerics and saying we will not do that anymore. I think of Saudi Arabia wants to be a modern country and be a part of the modern world, then it can’t give a wink and a nod to them anymore."
