Mary Anne Marsh: Manafort’s Indictment Is the First But It Won’t Be the Last

MARSH: "No, I don’t. The fact is, this is the first indictment. It won’t be the last indictment. The fact that the first one is Paul Manafort and one of the charges is conspiracy against the United States shows you just how serious all of this is and what a threat it is to Donald Trump by his reaction over the weekend. When you look at Paul Manafort’s role in the Trump campaign, the fact he was brought on to make sure that Trump got the nomination at the convention while he also changed the platform to help Putin against Ukraine. When you look at the fact he wanted to make sure that Oleg Deripaska knew about his involvement in  the campaign and offered briefings. And one last thing, David, the fact that he was at the Trump Tower meeting with Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner meeting with Russian emissaries who are offering negative dirt on Hillary Clinton was then followed by Trump’s erroneous statement misleading everyone to say it was about adoption tells you just how serious it is."
