MSNBC’s Renato Mariotti: ‘Obviously Foolish’ for Trump Jr. to Take Russia Meeting

‘I think frankly that’s common sense’

EXCERPT:

MARIOTTI: "And I think it was obviously foolish to have that meeting because at the very least they could be compromised. As for the shifting explanations, yes, that will be used against Donald Trump Jr. So ultimately, if Mr. Mueller is investigating and there’s more evidence here, Donald Trump Jr. made those statements himself. He didn’t make them through an attorney, and those statements can be used against him. And typically when people are making false statements or misleading statements or changing statements about the purpose of a meeting that they had, it suggests that they’re not being truthful or that there’s something to hide about the meeting. So that was very poor legal strategy by Donald Trump Jr. and his team."
