Fraser Nelson: ‘There’s a Lot More Sympathy’ Among the Public in Europe for Trump’s Views
RUSH EXCERPT:
PERINO: "That was the welcome President Trump received yesterday in Poland. The g20 summit and homburg has been quite a different scene, and though President Trump is not the main target, they do illustrate the debate in thoughts on the president. “The stage is being set for a clash between Progressive European values and American coldhearted is. But there are two problems with the general idea. The first is that many E.U. Leaders are coming around to Mr. Trump’s way of thinking, and the other is that in many areas European popular opinion is firmly on his side.” Fraser Nelson joins us from London. Thank you for staying up with us to explain to us why you think there’s more support for President Trump then maybe perhaps people are willing to let on."
NELSON: "Donald Trump is always portrayed the sort of crazy guy with these out their views on immigration, on border security, on trade. It certainly true that European leaders are kind of traumatized by what they hear coming out of the White House. For the public it’s a different opinion. There’s a lot more sympathy. For example, take on immigration immigration. The travel ban, the pretrade as one of the cruelest things, cutting off immigration from six nations. Of it was found that Germany, France, Greece, Austria, would ban all immigration regardless of what country it came from. There is so much more sympathy for trump’s ideas than you would get from listening to the debate amongst Europeans."
