NRCC Chair on Georgia Election: Trump’s Not a Drag on Our Candidates

‘President Trump only won it by one point, so I don’t think he’ll be a drag on the ticket’

EXCERPT:

STIVERS: "I don’t think he’s necessarily a drag on our candidates, but you have to remember, this fall in November, last fall, this race was a one-point race. So, this district is not a big blowout district. It’s one of those suburban districts that can go back and forth, even though it’s been in Republican hands a while. President Trump only won it by one point, so I don’t think he’ll be a drag on the ticket. And as long as Republicans show up today, and they’ve got a lot of choices, 15 choices today, then I think we’ll be OK and we’ll make it to a runoff. And you know, it’s -- it's early, but I feel pretty good about how things are going to go today, but we have to make sure our people show up."
