Lavrov: ‘We Are Willing to Achieve Absolute Defeat of ISIS’

LAVROV (via translator): "As you know, we have suspended the memorandum, but today the Russian president has reaffirmed that we are willing to put it back into force on condition that the primary force is going to be reaffirmed of both the American coalition and the Russian airspace forces. That is the objective of fighting Jabhat al-Nusra, as well as the associated terrorist organizations. We assumed as well that the publicly stated position of both Russia and the U.S., there have been no intention to interfere with domestic affairs of Syria or any other state still in force, and we do hope that Iraq's example, as well as that of Libya and other countries is going to be an admonition against trying to recreate similar attempts anywhere else, including in Northern Africa. Let me say once again that we are willing to achieve an absolute defeat of ISIS as well as all of the other terrorists. This is our common objective."
