RUIZ: “As today's staff report explains in great detail, Dr. Fauci was unequivocally referencing the regulatory definition for gain and function research, the P3CO definition in his 2021 testimony to the Senate. It is the regulatory definition, not the overly broad definition that the majority has relied upon in their efforts to manufacture catching Dr. Fauci in a lie that has any legal bearing on the research NIH did or did not fund. Dr. Fauci directly, clearly stated this on the record during his testimony in 2021 and he reiterated it to us during his transcribed interview with the select subcommittee in January. And when he says that NIH did not fund gain of function research in Wuhan, China, under this definition, the only relevant definition, he is telling the truth.”
