Pro-Palestinian USF Student on a Hunger Strike: ‘I Feel Malnourished … USF Would Rather Watch Us Starve than Meet Our Demands’

‘Are they waiting for someone to drop dead to take an action?’

EXCERPT:

KHADIJA: “Hello, I'm Khadija. Today is day 3 of the strike. For three days, USF has forced us to starve ourselves, to have our voices heard. We are relying on fish oil and water to sustain ourselves. I feel malnourished and fatigued. My body feels weak. How can we believe USF cared for the student body when they make it abundantly clear they'd rather watch us starve than even meet one of our demands? Are they waiting for someone to drop dead to take action? It's been three days, Rhea Law! When will you care about your students as much as you care about your paycheck?”
