Leon Panetta: Invading Gaza Would be ‘Very Tough’ and ‘Costly’

PANETTA: "Any invading force would ultimately be caught having to go into door-to-door fighting, building-to-building, room-to-room, basement-to-basement. This would be very tough in terms of being able to ultimately be able to get at Hamas and be able to destroy them. It’s going to be a challenge. It’s going to be a challenge, it’s not that Israel isn’t up to that challenge, they’ve got over 300,000 reservists that are now mobilized and they know that territory and they know how to do it, but it’s still going to be very tough and it’s going to be costly as well."
