DEA Administrator: ‘We Have Now Seized More than 60 Million Fake Fentanyl Pills’ in 2023
‘In all of 2022 we seized about 58 million pills’
EXCERPT:
MILGRAM: “This year already in 2023, we have seized more than 60 million fake pills that contain fentanyl. When I came in in 2021, 4 of those 10 pills, of the 10 pills we were seizing, contained a potentially deadly dose, that's two milligrams or more. Last year, it was 6 out of 10. This year, we are now seeing it is 7 out of 10 pills that contain a deadly dose. And that is really critical to understand two things. One, we are seizing more than we have ever seized before. Last year in all of 2022, we seized about 58 million pills. We have already exceeded. We have now seized more than 60 million fake fentanyl pills.”
