WEEKS: "We have been mistreated … by the hospital staff, initially. We call, and get the phone hung up on, stay on hold for 30 minutes. Sometimes we call; we get bounced around the hospital about 15 minutes to get told we can’t speak to Eric. But after Reverend Jackson stepped in …  a lot of people started changing their minds and coming in to assist and, you know, being more receptive to our needs."

FARROW: "Why do you think your uncle was turned away from the hospital initially?"

WEEKS: "He didn’t have insurance and he’s a poor black man. And he had a very deep accent coming from West Africa and I believe they didn’t believe he deserved the care that, you know, everybody else should get. And you don’t treat people like that."
