Bolton: ‘N. Korea Is Not Going To Be Talked out of Its Long Effort to Get Deliverable’ Nukes
EXCERPT:
HEMMER: "Just react to some of the comments from the president. Come to the table and make a deal. He says we’re making good progress. What does that sound like to you?"
BOLTON: "Well not much frankly. He is in South Korea. He's got a delicate political task. The president takes a very soft line on how to handle North Korea. But South Korea itself is very divided. The leader of the opposition a few weeks ago called for the United States to redeploy tactical nuclear weapons there, which is a pretty tough stance. You know, I think it is virtually certain North Korea is not going to be talked out of its long effort to get deliverable nuclear weapons. They’ve fiddled with this for 25 years. CIA Director Mike Pence said a few weeks ago they’re close to the finish line."
HEMMER: "Pompeo."
BOLTON: "Pompeo, I beg your pardon. And so I -- I don’t think now that there is any serious possibility."
