Katie Hopkins: ‘We Say We’ll Stand up to Terror But It Feels Like We Put out the Welcome Mat’

‘It’s always the fatigue that you’re aware that you might be a target’

RUSH EXCERPT:
HOPKINS: "It’s very real. I can’t say more than that. It’s virtually every minute of every day. I’ve spoken to a lot of people. They don’t know why they’re so tired. It’s always the fatigue that you’re aware that you might be a target. People here are frightened for their children now. I’ve had e-mails from mothers, from fathers saying I don’t want to go out, I won’t take my child to the mall this weekend. I don’t want my child going on the school trip. I cancelled my school trip. I won’t let my child go out after the football match. I want him home. A lot of texts being sent. A lady said she had three texts from her mother today just checking that she’s okay. There’s this fear and it’s very curious. We have our leaders standing up saying, we are strong, we’re united, we’re defiant. We will not let terrorists win. At the same time behind them, 3,800 troops, military armed personnel are marching into London, 1,000 of whom are at Buckingham Palace. Another 2,800 salted around places."
