Obama Is Critical of the Trump Administration’s Handling of Climate Change

‘That’s part of what happens in democracy’

EXCERPT:

OBAMA: "Well, obviously the current administration has differences with my administration in terms of energy policy. That's part of what happens in democracy. So there will be a useful debate that takes place in America. The good news is that, in part of what we did over the last eight years, the private sector has already made a determination that our future is in clean energy. Investments are already moving into clean energy. Automakers have already started thinking about how do we improve fuel efficiency. Those things are locked in now, into the economy. Because of the current debates that are taking place in Washington it may be that some of the steps we put in place move more slowly than they otherwise would have, but I'm confident that the United States will continue to move in the right direction."
