Biography

Libby Casey is the senior news anchor of The Washington Post. She anchors live broadcasts of breaking news, political stories and major events on The Post homepage, YouTube, and social media platforms. Her series “How to be a journalist” shares a behind-the-scenes look at how reporters do their jobs. Since joining The Post in 2016, Casey has covered presidential races, Congress, impeachments, space launches, and was part of the newsroom effort that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for coverage of the January 6th Capitol attack. Prior to working at The Washington Post, Casey was a national TV correspondent for Al Jazeera America, a host and producer at C-SPAN, and a public radio reporter based at the U.S. Capitol and in Fairbanks, Alaska. She taught radio journalism at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and was a fellow with SAIS International Reporting Project covering renewable energy in Iceland.
