EPA’s McCarthy Tells Americans: ‘Don’t Debate’ Global Warming, It’ ‘Settled’

RUSH TRANSCRIPT We have ░░░░░░░░ some incredible progress together ░░░░░░░░ you for a technology ░░░░░░░░ this is a big ░░░░░░░░ and I want to ░░░░░░░░ everybody at EPA who ░░░░░░░░ countless hours falling over ░░░░░░░░ power plan and the ░░░░░░░░ comments we received that ░░░░░░░░ influenced this outcome We ░░░░░░░░ to all acknowledge and ░░░░░░░░ think we do here ░░░░░░░░ the effort was worth ░░░░░░░░ left Climate change is ░░░░░░░░ office It is a ░░░░░░░░ challenge In many ways ░░░░░░░░ is very personal to ░░░░░░░░ of us because it ░░░░░░░░ everything and everyone we ░░░░░░░░ and love It affects ░░░░░░░░ kids our communities even ░░░░░░░░ ability to earn a ░░░░░░░░ living By now we ░░░░░░░░ that climate change is ░░░░░░░░ in large part by ░░░░░░░░ pollution and it leads ░░░░░░░░ more extreme heat cold ░░░░░░░░ fires and floods For ░░░░░░░░ strained by the drought ░░░░░░░░ families with homes in ░░░░░░░░ path of a wildfire ░░░░░░░░ small businesses along our ░░░░░░░░ climate change is indeed ░░░░░░░░ personal We know carbon ░░░░░░░░ comes packaged with smog ░░░░░░░░ pollutants that can lead ░░░░░░░░ lung and heart disease ░░░░░░░░ threaten our kids health ░░░░░░░░ For moms like me ░░░░░░░░ parents everywhere you know ░░░░░░░░ change is personal and ░░░░░░░░ got involved and I ░░░░░░░░ you for it No ░░░░░░░░ who you are where ░░░░░░░░ live or what you ░░░░░░░░ about climate change is ░░░░░░░░ you and your family ░░░░░░░░ We are past any ░░░░░░░░ discussion or debate Scientists ░░░░░░░░ as sure that humans ░░░░░░░░ causing climate change as ░░░░░░░░ are that cigarette smoke ░░░░░░░░ lung cancer Unless you ░░░░░░░░ to debate that point ░░░░░░░░ t debate climate change ░░░░░░░░ longer because it is ░░░░░░░░ moral responsibility to act ░░░░░░░░ responsibility right now is ░░░░░░░░ clear.”
