[excerpt SCHNEIDERMAN Good afternoon ░░░░░░░░ you for being here ░░░░░░░░ us I m New ░░░░░░░░ State Attorney General Eric ░░░░░░░░ and I am truly ░░░░░░░░ to be joined by ░░░░░░░░ great group of advocates ░░░░░░░░ activists here today Some ░░░░░░░░ the heads of organizations ░░░░░░░░ are public officials but ░░░░░░░░ here is a true ░░░░░░░░ and an activist in ░░░░░░░░ of women s rights ░░░░░░░░ women s health We ░░░░░░░░ united in our commitment ░░░░░░░░ ensure that in New ░░░░░░░░ no woman is deprived ░░░░░░░░ her constitutional rights and ░░░░░░░░ woman gets the health ░░░░░░░░ to which she is ░░░░░░░░ I m joined today ░░░░░░░░ Merle Hoffman a wonderful ░░░░░░░░ and heroic founder of ░░░░░░░░ Women s Health Center ░░░░░░░░ we are today the ░░░░░░░░ Public Advocate of the ░░░░░░░░ of New York Letitia ░░░░░░░░ Jean Bucaria the deputy ░░░░░░░░ of the National Organization ░░░░░░░░ Women New York City ░░░░░░░░ Elena Perez the chief ░░░░░░░░ officer of the National ░░░░░░░░ for Reproductive Health and ░░░░░░░░ Adams the director of ░░░░░░░░ relations for Planned Parenthood ░░░░░░░░ New York City And ░░░░░░░░ are here at Choices ░░░░░░░░ to stand up for ░░░░░░░░ most fundamental of constitutional ░░░░░░░░ the right to integrity ░░░░░░░░ and protection of your ░░░░░░░░ body and your own ░░░░░░░░ We are standing up ░░░░░░░░ violence and sending a ░░░░░░░░ message that in New ░░░░░░░░ the law is protecting ░░░░░░░░ to abortion and all ░░░░░░░░ reproductive health services will ░░░░░░░░ enforced The decision to ░░░░░░░░ a pregnancy is deeply ░░░░░░░░ it is often painful ░░░░░░░░ a mother learns that ░░░░░░░░ own life is at ░░░░░░░░ if she carries a ░░░░░░░░ to term but it ░░░░░░░░ t matter what the ░░░░░░░░ is The law guarantees ░░░░░░░░ women are the ones ░░░░░░░░ have the right to ░░░░░░░░ that choice not some ░░░░░░░░ sitting in Albany or ░░░░░░░░ The law trusts women ░░░░░░░░ we are here to ░░░░░░░░ that law And for ░░░░░░░░ women who have come ░░░░░░░░ this clinic who have ░░░░░░░░ many different types of ░░░░░░░░ health services have been ░░░░░░░░ by angry protesters who ░░░░░░░░ determined to stop them ░░░░░░░░ exercising their constitutional rights ░░░░░░░░ their legal right and ░░░░░░░░ moral right to control ░░░░░░░░ own bodies And ladies ░░░░░░░░ gentlemen protesters really understates ░░░░░░░░ we re dealing with ░░░░░░░░ are talking about vicious ░░░░░░░░ abusive language threats physical ░░░░░░░░ Every Saturday morning protesters ░░░░░░░░ on this clinic and ░░░░░░░░ the sidewalk into an ░░░░░░░░ course.”
