SCHNEIDERMAN: "And we are here at Choices today to stand up for the most fundamental of constitutional rights, the right to integrity, privacy and protection of your own body and your own personhood. We are standing up against violence and sending a clear message that in New York the law is protecting access to abortion and all other reproductive health services will be enforced. The decision to terminate a pregnancy is deeply personal, it is often painful. Sometimes a mother learns that her own life is at risk if she carries a pregnancy to term, but it doesn't matter what the reason is. The law guarantees that women are the ones who have the right to make that choice, not some man sitting in Albany or Washington. The law trusts women and we are here to enforce that law."
