WAGNER Dr Sachs thank ░░░░░░░░ for joining us by ░░░░░░░░ SACHS What a pleasure ░░░░░░░░ wish I could come ░░░░░░░░ the studio but off ░░░░░░░░ streets WAGNER You have ░░░░░░░░ good excuse today We ░░░░░░░░ been talking a lot ░░░░░░░░ erratic weather patterns We ░░░░░░░░ focused on the warming ░░░░░░░░ the Earth This would ░░░░░░░░ to for those who ░░░░░░░░ climate change they will ░░░░░░░░ to moments like this ░░░░░░░░ say but it is ░░░░░░░░ cold it is historic ░░░░░░░░ Is there an interrelation ░░░░░░░░ extreme heat and extreme ░░░░░░░░ and extremely erratic storms ░░░░░░░░ Certainly the scientists think ░░░░░░░░ And the scientists say ░░░░░░░░ are two big reasons ░░░░░░░░ we re getting mega ░░░░░░░░ such as the big ░░░░░░░░ in spring and summer ░░░░░░░░ bigger snowstorms in the ░░░░░░░░ With warmer temperature the ░░░░░░░░ holds more moisture in ░░░░░░░░ and second the oceans ░░░░░░░░ really warm right now ░░░░░░░░ means that extra amount ░░░░░░░░ precipitation in the warmer ░░░░░░░░ over the oceans so ░░░░░░░░ scientists are saying that ░░░░░░░░ you can never be ░░░░░░░░ of any particular storm ░░░░░░░░ should be expecting this ░░░░░░░░ of trend And I ░░░░░░░░ one of my colleagues ░░░░░░░░ now what the record ░░░░░░░░ for mega snowfalls He ░░░░░░░░ out that since the ░░░░░░░░ starting in 1869 of ░░░░░░░░ 10 biggest snowstorms five ░░░░░░░░ them have come since ░░░░░░░░ That suggests we re ░░░░░░░░ a lot more of ░░░░░░░░ kind of extreme event ░░░░░░░░ s what we expect ░░░░░░░░ s what the climate ░░░░░░░░ says While you can ░░░░░░░░ say it about any ░░░░░░░░ storm it s definitely ░░░░░░░░ with those expectations.”
