COLBERT As long as ░░░░░░░░ ve got you here ░░░░░░░░ as long as I ░░░░░░░░ got you here I ░░░░░░░░ we all understand when ░░░░░░░░ say what an authoritarian ░░░░░░░░ is Abuse of authority ░░░░░░░░ for people s own ░░░░░░░░ gain When we say ░░░░░░░░ society when we say ░░░░░░░░ just define for everybody ░░░░░░░░ you mean by that ░░░░░░░░ They go together actually ░░░░░░░░ oligarchy is a nation ░░░░░░░░ a small number of ░░░░░░░░ wealthy people control the ░░░░░░░░ control media We have ░░░░░░░░ experience with that right ░░░░░░░░ on CBS Audience boos ░░░░░░░░ they control the political ░░░░░░░░ So you add it ░░░░░░░░ together and today we ░░░░░░░░ more income and wealth ░░░░░░░░ than we ve ever ░░░░░░░░ an history of America ░░░░░░░░ you ve got the ░░░░░░░░ 1 owning more wealth ░░░░░░░░ the bottom 93 One ░░░░░░░░ Mr Musk one man ░░░░░░░░ more wealth than the ░░░░░░░░ 52 of American households ░░░░░░░░ right And then you ░░░░░░░░ a political system all ░░░░░░░░ These guys not only ░░░░░░░░ to control the economy ░░░░░░░░ want to control the ░░░░░░░░ system So you have ░░░░░░░░ corrupt political system as ░░░░░░░░ result of this disastrous ░░░░░░░░ United Supreme Court decision ░░░░░░░░ that billionaires like Mr ░░░░░░░░ can spend 270 million ░░░░░░░░ elect Trump There are ░░░░░░░░ billionaires also putting money ░░░░░░░░ the political process And ░░░░░░░░ people they say Hey ░░░░░░░░ ve got one vote ░░░░░░░░ can t spend millions ░░░░░░░░ dollars to elect a ░░░░░░░░ So you add ownership ░░░░░░░░ media which is becoming ░░░░░░░░ and more concentrated right ░░░░░░░░ people buying media owning ░░░░░░░░ media Mr Musk owns ░░░░░░░░ Zuckerberg owns COLBERT Facebook ░░░░░░░░ Instagram Sanders Meta right ░░░░░░░░ now owns Paramount and ░░░░░░░░ You add all those ░░░░░░░░ up what you add ░░░░░░░░ up with a really ░░░░░░░░ number of people with ░░░░░░░░ wealth and incredible power ░░░░░░░░ that is what oligarchy ░░░░░░░░ about COLBERT And that ░░░░░░░░ together with authoritarianism as ░░░░░░░░ the chocolate and peanut ░░░░░░░░ of terrible ideas Sanders ░░░░░░░░ why does it go ░░░░░░░░ Because these guys own ░░░░░░░░ lot of money.”
