Reporter Hi Secretary Granholm ░░░░░░░░ Trump transition team is ░░░░░░░░ working on rolling back ░░░░░░░░ killing the EV tax ░░░░░░░░ It s been a ░░░░░░░░ part of this administration ░░░░░░░░ clean energy transition plans ░░░░░░░░ transportation plans What is ░░░░░░░░ reaction to this What ░░░░░░░░ it mean for all ░░░░░░░░ these investments that have ░░░░░░░░ announced and for really ░░░░░░░░ of getting to that ░░░░░░░░ of 100 electric vehicles ░░░░░░░░ Let me just say ░░░░░░░░ would be so counterproductive ░░░░░░░░ get rid of you ░░░░░░░░ we look at the ░░░░░░░░ transition in a holistic ░░░░░░░░ So we provide a ░░░░░░░░ credit to create demand ░░░░░░░░ re providing supply side ░░░░░░░░ for the supply chain ░░░░░░░░ building out the electric ░░░░░░░░ and the battery and ░░░░░░░░ guts to the battery ░░░░░░░░ you eliminate these credits ░░░░░░░░ what do you do ░░░░░░░░ end up ceding the ░░░░░░░░ to other countries particularly ░░░░░░░░ who I know is ░░░░░░░░ an economic competitor If ░░░░░░░░ want to diversify your ░░░░░░░░ mix you don t ░░░░░░░░ away the ability to ░░░░░░░░ globally by building at ░░░░░░░░ and that means the ░░░░░░░░ supply chain So it ░░░░░░░░ my hope that members ░░░░░░░░ Congress who have written ░░░░░░░░ in support of keeping ░░░░░░░░ incentives will be strong ░░░░░░░░ saying Yes I ve ░░░░░░░░ battery firms that are ░░░░░░░░ up in my district ░░░░░░░░ ve got people who ░░░░░░░░ now buying electric vehicles ░░░░░░░░ in the United States ░░░░░░░░ Made in the United ░░░░░░░░ the critical minerals being ░░░░░░░░ and processed in United ░░░░░░░░ for those batteries Those ░░░░░░░░ all job opportunities So ░░░░░░░░ we want to stand ░░░░░░░░ and watch offshoring again ░░░░░░░░ cede this territory then ░░░░░░░░ don t have an ░░░░░░░░ strategy But if we ░░░░░░░░ to compete which we ░░░░░░░░ doing and we re ░░░░░░░░ successfully then we keep ░░░░░░░░ incentives in place.”
