TAPPER As the world ░░░░░░░░ climate nears a breaking ░░░░░░░░ world leaders are in ░░░░░░░░ UAE of all places ░░░░░░░░ weekend hammering out an ░░░░░░░░ to try to stop ░░░░░░░░ temperatures Experts insist you ░░░░░░░░ do that without phasing ░░░░░░░░ fossil fuels But oil ░░░░░░░░ nations are pushing back ░░░░░░░░ on that not surprisingly ░░░░░░░░ the host of the ░░░░░░░░ conference And joining me ░░░░░░░░ is former Vice President ░░░░░░░░ Gore Vice President Gore ░░░░░░░░ so much for joining ░░░░░░░░ So you were just ░░░░░░░░ world leaders at the ░░░░░░░░ 28 global climate summit ░░░░░░░░ hosted by the UAE ░░░░░░░░ of the biggest oil ░░░░░░░░ countries in the world ░░░░░░░░ president of the summit ░░░░░░░░ the CEO of a ░░░░░░░░ run oil company who ░░░░░░░░ said that there s ░░░░░░░░ science to support phasing ░░░░░░░░ fossil fuels That s ░░░░░░░░ not true This all ░░░░░░░░ like having an arsonist ░░░░░░░░ a fire prevention seminar ░░░░░░░░ you have any hope ░░░░░░░░ something substantive can actually ░░░░░░░░ out of this GORE ░░░░░░░░ Jake they have overreached ░░░░░░░░ fossil fuel industry has ░░░░░░░░ to control and manipulate ░░░░░░░░ process for a long ░░░░░░░░ They re way better ░░░░░░░░ capturing politicians than capturing ░░░░░░░░ But they have gone ░░░░░░░░ far And I think ░░░░░░░░ it could possibly end ░░░░░░░░ as a kind of ░░░░░░░░ in disguise because it ░░░░░░░░ awakened a lot of ░░░░░░░░ to how absurd this ░░░░░░░░ is The climate crisis ░░░░░░░░ a fossil fuel crisis ░░░░░░░░ they try to pretend ░░░░░░░░ they can separate fossil ░░░░░░░░ from emissions from the ░░░░░░░░ fuels and keep on ░░░░░░░░ them and catch the ░░░░░░░░ on the way into ░░░░░░░░ air It s kind ░░░░░░░░ ridiculous Maybe one day ░░░░░░░░ the future that might ░░░░░░░░ possible but it s ░░░░░░░░ feasible It s nowhere ░░░░░░░░ to being feasible now ░░░░░░░░ I think there s ░░░░░░░░ chance that we could ░░░░░░░░ a surprisingly good outcome ░░░░░░░░ if the majority of ░░░░░░░░ countries there hold on ░░░░░░░░ their convictions and demand ░░░░░░░░ phaseout of fossil fuels ░░░░░░░░ m hoping.”
