Wallace Joining us now ░░░░░░░░ former RNC chairman Michael ░░░░░░░░ and Errin Haines editor ░░░░░░░░ chief for The 19th ░░░░░░░░ for us both MSNBC ░░░░░░░░ Michael Steele I want ░░░░░░░░ start with you and ░░░░░░░░ that Marc Elias just ░░░░░░░░ about I made some ░░░░░░░░ yesterday about the filibuster ░░░░░░░░ to his point that ░░░░░░░░ rule and it s ░░░░░░░░ in the Constitution it ░░░░░░░░ not even a law ░░░░░░░░ rule shouldn t be ░░░░░░░░ to sort of excuse ░░░░░░░░ nothing as democracy is ░░░░░░░░ assault Do you think ░░░░░░░░ see it that way ░░░░░░░░ You know it s ░░░░░░░░ to be honest I ░░░░░░░░ t know what the ░░░░░░░░ see right now to ░░░░░░░░ honest It s a ░░░░░░░░ bit hazy and murky ░░░░░░░░ lack of a political ░░░░░░░░ to deal with big ░░░░░░░░ of legislation related to ░░░░░░░░ Biden agenda to me ░░░░░░░░ just stunning that that ░░░░░░░░ not been thought through ░░░░░░░░ they have not been ░░░░░░░░ ve not had the ░░░░░░░░ to Jesus conversation with ░░░░░░░░ caucus House and Senate ░░░░░░░░ let everybody know what ░░░░░░░░ deal is and to ░░░░░░░░ to the Sinemas and ░░░░░░░░ you know you got ░░░░░░░░ get on board on ░░░░░░░░ one But that s ░░░░░░░░ my call So the ░░░░░░░░ strategy is a little ░░░░░░░░ befuddling to me in ░░░░░░░░ regard because it is ░░░░░░░░ clear and obvious what ░░░░░░░░ Democrats are up against ░░░░░░░░ what Republicans are doing ░░░░░░░░ I think it s ░░░░░░░░ what Marc the conversation ░░░░░░░░ just had with Marc ░░░░░░░░ was just if you ░░░░░░░░ put that on a ░░░░░░░░ and replay it for ░░░░░░░░ to really understand what ░░░░░░░░ at stake here you ░░░░░░░░ dug into that in ░░░░░░░░ way that I think ░░░░░░░░ a lot of clarity ░░░░░░░░ focus to what we ░░░░░░░░ to be concentrating on ░░░░░░░░ just in terms of ░░░░░░░░ but in terms of ░░░░░░░░ kind of policy you ░░░░░░░░ to put forth and ░░░░░░░░ it will mean to ░░░░░░░░ country So you know ░░░░░░░░ battle lines have been ░░░░░░░░ I think a lot ░░░░░░░░ folks are waiting to ░░░░░░░░ how Democrats engage on ░░░░░░░░ new front And the ░░░░░░░░ to your point ultimately ░░░░░░░░ tradition Yes it is ░░░░░░░░ of the distinctions between ░░░░░░░░ House and the Senate ░░░░░░░░ keep the Senate from ░░░░░░░░ of playing itself out ░░░░░░░░ the House where the ░░░░░░░░ has no power and ░░░░░░░░ minority typically becomes irrelevant ░░░░░░░░ I think there are ░░░░░░░░ in that process and ░░░░░░░░ that rule that will ░░░░░░░░ for big important national ░░░░░░░░ to be exempted somehow ░░░░░░░░ least that s the ░░░░░░░░ the Democrats should be ░░░░░░░░ as they move to ░░░░░░░░ that thing up Look ░░░░░░░░ this is not new ░░░░░░░░ for us Harry Reid ░░░░░░░░ with the filibuster to ░░░░░░░░ the objectives of the ░░░░░░░░ Administration and his cabinet ░░░░░░░░ and lower court federal ░░░░░░░░ Mitch McConnell did the ░░░░░░░░ same thing just all ░░░░░░░░ a sudden said you ░░░░░░░░ dispense with the filibuster ░░░░░░░░ carry out the agenda ░░░░░░░░ the Republican Caucus and ░░░░░░░░ on Supreme Court nominations ░░░░░░░░ So here we are ░░░░░░░░ is a conversation a ░░░░░░░░ about nothing right now ░░░░░░░░ the country needs them ░░░░░░░░ move and act.”
