Bob Shrum: Hillary Clinton Isn’t Afraid of Benghazi

SHRUM: "I don't think she's afraid of this issue in the sense that it's an issue that appeals to the base. It has already been thoroughly investigated. The inspector general investigated it, there have been all of these hearings held about it, there's a conclusion that there's no evidence whatsoever of political involvement in it. She's a target of all of this. because of 2016. But the deeper reality is, you have republicans right now who have to appeal to the base. Look, somebody said today, that Hillary Clinton didn't testify under only when she testified. Is the implication that she lied? This is going into cloud cuckoo land. But I think we're going to see more and more of it. And I think Jackie Spears is exactly right. When the speaker of the House says 'I promise you won't be a circus, that's a guarantee that it will be."
