Rep. Jamie Raskin: Democrats Will Advance Investigations and Hearings To Expose Government Corruption
RUSH EXCERPT:
RASKIN: “So Jen, thank you for having me. Look, the house Judiciary Committee is the home of a lot of the greatest federal statutes in our history. The civil rights act of 1964 came out of the Judiciary Committee, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the freedom of information act, the sherman antitrust act, the clayton antitrust act. And we’re living in another period of dramatic historical change. This election is a sea change in American politics, and it was exactly what we needed to bring ourselves back from the brink of authoritarianism and corruption as a permanent way of doing business. And so our committee is going to have to both shine a light on all of these different domains of government that have been absolutely poisoned and contaminated by quid pro quo corruption and pay to play government and coin operated public policy. We have to move away from that.”
