Reince Priebus on New Chief of Staff Stephen Miller: The Message Is an ‘America First’ Message, He’s One of the Originals
RUSH EXCERPT:
PRIEBUS: "I think the message is, an America first message. Stephens is one of the originals. I have a lot of respect for Stephen. He’s really good but the message is, America first. We’ll keep plowing down this road which I think is fine. Honestly, what I look at, I know Stephen really well and susie. Stephen is very competent. The president has a lot of faith in him. He’s always around. Works harder than ever. He’s head of all domestic policy. He’s always been loyal and the president is looking at this and saying, if I have to put in a new chief-of-staff I want to pick someone like Stephen. I’ll say one other thingt there is a media perception of Stephen and this behind the scenes perception. The reality of Stephen. I wouldn’t use this about a lot of guys but he’s actually a sweet person. I’ve been in hundreds of meetings with him. I have never seen him unprepared. He’s talkative. He listens. He enjoys arguing with people that don’t agree with him. I think — I totally get the pick. I know why the president did it. And I think it makes a lot of sense, and I think he’s going to do a great job."
