Rep. Rutherford on Public Safety in Jacksonville: I Know How Important It Is to Have the Funding That You Need to Get the Job Done

RUSH EXCERPT:
RUTHERFORD: "The challenges facing law enforcement- I can tell you- are constantly changing criminals are finding new ways to use technology, and our officers need the tools to stay one step ahead of them. That’s why investments and advanced technologies and investigative capabilities are so vitally and. In jacksonville is demonstrating to the rest of our country. What strong leadership, good police work and federal partnerships can accomplish have served as a share of myself. I know how important it is to have the resources and funding the you need to get the job done. But I’ll mention one other thing that I think is unique about jacksonville. General blanton, that is where I consolidated government are sheriff, is not appointed by the Marion and work for the buyer on work for the city council. He works for the men and women, the city, it works for the citizens and he works to keep them safe and so are serious, know their communities and they know what it takes to keep them safe and our jobs to make sure that they have the resources they get. It done and I’m pleased to see President Trump and attorney general glances commitment to supporting the great work being done here in jacksonville, and I share that commitment to making sure our law enforcement agencies have the resources that they need"
