Gov. Jeff Landry: ‘Stephen Miller Is Exactly the Type of Person You Want Standing Next to the President’

EXCERPT:

LANDRY: “Well, again, you’re always looking for someone that understands the breadth of the office that you’re representing. I mean, you’re talking about a lot of different agencies, a lot of different departments, a lot of different balls up in the air at the same time. Stephen Miller fits that goal. He understands the politics of it. I think one of the most important points is how long he’s been with the president. This is not an easy president to work for because of his work schedule. He demands a lot. And Stephen has always been there, giving him good, trusted, honest advice. So, again, I think that the baton’s being passed on to someone who can absolutely handle this job, especially in light of the midterms and the results that happened on Tuesday. Look, Louisiana, I’m proud to say, sent two Republican senators back to Washington, D.C. We did our part. We were one of the few states in the South that held the line. And so, again, it’s not going to be an easy two years, but I can tell you, Stephen Miller is exactly the type of person you want standing next to the president to handle what’s coming.”
