Abdul El-Sayed Avoids to Commit Support for Chuck Schumer as Senate Majority Leader

‘I am for Chris Van Hollen’

EXCERPT:

EL-SAYED: “Right. I agree. And this is what I’m saying. Like, I don’t know who’s stepping up and saying, I want to be Senate Majority Leader. If, you know, if we have another option, I’m going to look at that and say, who is best placed to get us action, to get money out of politics, put money in pockets, pass Medicare for all. You know, I was very clear early on that I’m not going to say who I’m not for. I’m going to say who I am for. I am for Chris Van Hollen. If he decides he wants to be Senate Majority Leader, I think he’D be amazing at the job. But absent him, the question for us is, all right, who are the other options here and who is going to get us to a point where we are passing legislation, putting it on the president’s desk and forcing him to make a decision so that we can talk about what we did with the mandate that we had to be able to address the affordability crisis in people’s lives.”
