Wis. Gov-Elect David Crowley: I Didn’t Run To Be the ‘First Black Governor,’ I Wanna Make Income Inequality History
RUSH EXCERPT:
CROWLEY: "Well, I didn’t run to be the first black governor. I didn’t run to make history. If anything I want to make child poverty history, I want to make income inequality, history and it- and I want every young kid- you know, no matter what zip code that they live in or what last name they may have or a kid who may be facing eviction and want them to dream and understand that they too can be able to work hard, be kind and bill release. Issues, where you may get elected to be moving into the governor’s residence as his, I am in wow. I understand the historical nature. My job is making sure that we deliver for the people. People have been hurting, they’ve been suffering. They don’t feel like there’s an end in sight when it comes down to the prosperity and being able to keep a little bit more money in their pocketbooks and be able to save for a vacation. My focus is on them whether you live in urban community, like Milwaukee or whether you live in a farm community or rural community, like he Hawaii or in Wausau. We got deliver for the Wisconsin folks, who called the stayed home because they’ve been hurting so much, but at the end of the day, but at the end of the day is was not about making. History is about making sure that we can move forward. Just like our state motto says. Thank you"
