Rep. Don Beyer Said Haley Stevens Endorsing Rogers Might Help El-Sayed

EXCERPT:

BEYER: “I don’t think they had any choice. You know, I mean, she’s been a Democrat all her life. She competed in the primary. Usually we ask people, both parties ask people if they can compete in the election, will they commit to supporting whoever wins the primary? And we always say yes. And she did say yes until yesterday.”

BALLASY: “Yeah, what was your reaction? Were you surprised when you saw what happened?”

BEYER: “I was disappointed. But, you know, Hayley’s always been sort of a special person, so I don’t think it would make any difference in the election. If anything, that might strengthen the Democrats’ chances.”
