Md. Gov. Moore: The Amount of Billionaires Is Not Something that Keeps Me Awake at Night, the Amount of Children We Have Growing Up in Poverty Does

‘And so I think that we saw how people have mobilized and they understand that their vote is powerful, and it is more powerful than someone who wants to write a large check’

EXCERPT:

MOORE: “I think one of the things that we saw is that there is a corruptive value of this amount of money that flows into politics. You know, we're literally talking billions of dollars that are spent on elections. And I think people have come to understand that we are having billions of dollars that are being spent on elections while we're having people who are kicked off of healthcare, while we're saying that we can't afford to make sure that we can fight child poverty in our country. And I've always felt that the amount of billionaires that we have in our society is not something that keeps me awake at night. The amount of children we have growing up in poverty does.”
