Brianna Lyman: Iran War Was the ‘Final Nail in the Coffin’

‘In this election, 65 percent of Americans disapprove of the Iran war’

EXCERPT:

LYMAN: "And then you bring in a war that nobody asked for, a war that drove up prices, a war that Republicans knew was going to fail because they could look back in history. You go back to 2006, I pulled up some poll data,56 percent of voters disapproved of the Iraq war, and they preferred Democrat candidates in that 2006 midterm overwhelmingly. In this election, 65 percent of Americans disapprove of the Iran war and the third of voters said that Iran war was a crucial factor in their vote. 36 percent of voters in 2006 said a vote for a congressional race was based on their hatred of George W. Bush: You have 44 percent of registered voters said this October their congressional choice was against President Trump. This war was the final nail in the coffin, and if this does not get wrapped up, you won’t see an opportunity for Republicans to come back 2028."
