Lawrence O’Donnell: Trump ‘Will Never Be Able’ to Help GOP Campaigns Again

EXCERPT:

O'DONNELL: "You know, normal politicians, which is to say pre-Donald Trump politicians, when they win really close, as you’re seeing Byron Donalds, he’s going to win with 50-point-something percent of the vote, that terrifies the new incumbent governor. He has one job getting: people to vote for him next time who didn’t vote for him this time, which means he cannot play this like Donald Trump, who ignores anyone who didn’t vote for him. So I don’t know what to expect from Florida’s new Republican senator, Florida’s new Republican governor, and how far they might be willing to break from Donald Trump, whose career will be long over when each one of them are running for reelection. He will never be able to help them again. And if you ask them tonight, 'How much did he help you this time?' I’m not sure they’re going to give you a really positive answer about that. So these are two people who we should watch for how much they’re actually willing to separate from Trump now."
