Maddow: Results in Alaska Could Come out in at Least a Week While Maine Results Would Be in After Midnight Eastern
‘It may be weeks before we know the exact total number of house seats for each party’
EXCERPT:
MADDOW: "When it comes to counting the votes, we need to be prepared not just for a long night tonight, but for a long stretch. Polls do not close in Alaska’s pivotal Senate race, for example, until 1 A.M. Eastern time. And we may easily not know the results in Alaska for at least a week. Today, the top elections official in Maine, where there’s another critical Senate race, that top elections official in Maine said it’s possible we won’t have results there until after midnight Eastern at best. We may be able to project tonight which party will control the House of Representatives, but it honestly may be weeks before we know the exact total number of House seats for each party."
