Steve Kornacki: With the Arrival of Huge Batch of Election Day Vote, What Used to Be a 20% Angie Nixon Lead Falls to 12%

‘You know there is more to come’

TRANSCRIPT:

KORNACKI: "Well now it does. Look at that, if I talk long enough, things happen. Look at this. Harris won this by a point, and now we’re looking at Nixon leading this by 12. So remember what you just saw. I was talking to you, I said 20. We just got a huge batch of the Election Day vote, and what was a 20-point Nixon lead falls to 12. When you see 87 percent, you know there is more to come. So you could see what that big batch did. You can expect there's going to be another batch that’s going to knock this thing down. I would expect now, just based on that, probably into single digits. And so when you look at that wave, if Palm Beach closes out as a single digit margin here for Nixon, then that’s not -- you know, Harris wins it by a point. If Nixon were to win it by high single digits, maybe that’s a shift there of 10 points or so. She needs a shift north of 13 points in any given county. So this thing, we just might have gotten a piece of clarity there, an important piece of clarity in the Senate race, because this is a big piece of the puzzle here, close in '24, and again, I would expect that at this level, if it landed here, I'd say that might be just what Nixon needs in the county like this to have a shot statewide. If it takes another hit, another big hit, no."
