Sen. Mark Kelly: ‘The Rule of Law in This Administration Just Seems To Be Absent’
EXCERPT:
KELLY: “I mean, the rule of law in this administration just seems to be absent. And DoJ is now a tool of the president and the White House in a way we’ve never seen before in our country’s history. It wasn’t — it was never supposed to be like this. And they’ve always acted independently to enforce the law. Yeah. I mean, we’re going to see two more years of this. You know, Todd Blanche, the president’s private attorney, you know, seems to be living up to that title. He is not operating independently. And they’re going to — we expect them, you know, they’ve gone after me. They tried to intimidate me. They’re not going to get me to shut up. But what they are doing, unfortunately, on some military officers is working. I’m hearing that from them, that they’re being much more careful in what they say. In the United States of America, we have a First Amendment right. They have damaged that.”
