HOLMES: “But he also did talk about the midterms, only to stress that almost every cycle a president wins, and then the next cycle, the other party wins. And then saying, we gave it our best shot, which sounds like almost a concession before actually seeing the results. Now, I will tell you, even though he has privately predicted this, when I asked White House officials, how do you think he‘s going to react if, in fact, Democrats do win both chambers of Congress? They say it‘s anyone‘s guess. It‘s going to be how Donald Trump feels in that moment, even though he has been prepared, even though he has been predicting this. Now, interestingly, the White House just added this viewing party, closed press, tomorrow night starting at 7 P.M. in the East Room. We‘ll see if they end up opening to the press. I think a lot of that‘s going to depend on how Republicans are actually doing.”
