Abdul El-Sayed: Stopping Medicaid from Being Cut Is ‘the Single Most Important Thing We Can Possibly Do’

‘I want folks to understand what the implications of this are’

EXCERPT:

EL-SAYED: “The first, most important thing that we can do, I’ll be honest with you, is stop Medicaid from being cut. That is the single most important thing we can possibly do, right? I mean, I just, I want folks to understand what the implications of this are. It’s not just the people. I mean, it would be enough for the people who are losing their actual Medicaid, but it’s not just the people losing their Medicaid. Understand, when people lose their Medicaid, they’re still sick. It’s just that instead of getting health care consistently when it’s less expensive, they get their health care in an emergency room, it’s the most expensive. And then the emergency room has to figure out how to pay for that. So, you know where that goes."
