Trump: We’re Giving Serious Thought to Renaming the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to ‘Trump Reflecting Pool’

TRANSCRIPT:

TRUMP: “A special place with the Lincoln Memorial behind us. It’s been something that, for a long time, generations, they’ve looked at what’s behind me, from 1922. And believe it or not, it’s never worked. And it’s never worked because it was always loaded up with leaks and problems. But today I’m thrilled to announce the official opening of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Now, we’re giving serious thought to changing the name to the Trump Reflecting Pool. We’ll announce that sometime tomorrow. I’m sure that Secretary Doug Burgum will have a lot of fun in announcing. No, I’m only kidding. I’m only kidding. Please don’t report it. Just — they’ll cut it off and they’ll say he’s changing the name. No.”
