Michigan State Senator: I Live in Haley Stevens’ District and They’re Angry for Trusting Her
RUSH EXCERPT:
MCMORROW: “I don’t I don’t think this changes the dynamic at all. If anything, it has enraged people. My state Senate district is northwest Detroit through Birmingham. It is the most diverse district in the state by any measure. And I was in church this morning with Clyburn and Dingell and Abdul Donovan Mckinney, who will be the next congressman from Detroit. And people are not talking about Haley Stevens. If they are, they are saying how angry they are that they ever trusted her, that they ever donated to her, that they ever voted for her, because this is somebody who claimed to recognize the stakes. This is somebody who claimed to believe in reproductive rights, who wanted to fight against gun violence, who wanted to fight for Michigan manufacturing. And I was at a rally with UAW, a unity rally in Detroit. Uh, and director Lashawn English, who’s the director of UAW region one, was asked if Haley is ever welcomed back. And she pretty bluntly said, no, you turned your back on us after everything we did for you. Uh, and I don’t.”
