Kadia Goba: There’s ‘Some Residual Tension From the Primary’ as Michigan’s Senate Race Faces Lingering Divisions
‘El-sayed, who was an underdog, overcame Haley Stevens’
RUSH EXCERPT:
GOBA: “Yeah. And we can‘t all forget that a lot of this started when her fiance came out and said that he would vote for el-sayed a competitor. So, you know, I think this is an issue that is not going away. I think what you‘re seeing is some residual tension from the primary where el-sayed, who was an underdog, overcame Haley Stevens. And I think this is also not specific to this race. Now, of course, you know, it‘s one thing to say. Stevens, who has endorsed el-sayed, whether or not she would go on the campaign with him, it‘s a very different it‘s very different to say you‘ll endorse someone rather than I will bring my voters to you. And I think that is going to be a problem for el-sayed going forward.”
