Rep. Brendan Boyle: ‘We Have Not Seen Numbers This Poor Since the Great Recession’

BOYLE: “Well, I have to give the president credit. He inadvertently said something that’s accurate. We have never seen an economy like this, at least in my lifetime. Consumer sentiment is at the lowest level ever recorded for a poll that dates back almost 80 years in terms of inflation, which was largely back under control when Donald Trump took over about a year and a half ago. Ever since this tariff taxes, they’ve been moving in the opposite direction. And then, especially once he launched his Iran war on February 28th, it has been out of control, as you showed from those figures. And then finally, in terms of where people rate their own personal lives, we have not seen numbers this poor since the great recession, which was, of course, in the autumn of 2008.”
