BUTTIGIEG: “Well, yeah, I mean, as lamely as it was delivered, what you did see from jd Vance is clearly their strategy. It’s kind of a boogeyman strategy. The gerrymandering hasn’t worked. The money may not be working, the suppression isn’t working. So they’re going with demonization, which is of course, a very familiar playbook. And depending on the candidate, basically anybody who is left of the the Republican Party is described as a communist or a jihadist or whatever else they can throw at you to, to demonize people. And I got to tell you, it is really, really disconnected from what this election is about to the voters that that I’m talking to. They’re not so focused on the personalities of the candidates. They’re focused on their own lives. They want to know who’s going to be for them when it comes to health care, when it comes to being able to afford food, when it comes to bringing an end to the war that we’re all paying for at the pump.”
