Pete Buttigieg: Trump Administration ‘Never Thought They Would Actually Have To Contest an Election Over Issues Like the Cost of Living’

RUSH EXCERT:

BUTTIGIEG: “I mean, there’s a part of my brain that almost feels bad for him, but then I remember the person to feel bad for is her and every other American who’s struggling economically. And he’s, you know, it’s a comedically brutal, but but more importantly, it’s brutal to reflect that the joke has been on all of us. And I think what you’re seeing right now reflects the fact that they never thought they’D be at this point. I don’t just mean they never thought their polls would be so bad. That’s certainly true. It’s that they never thought they would actually have to contest an election over issues like the cost of living, because remember, they had other strategies lined up so that they wouldn’t have to deal with actual issues.”
