Pete Buttigieg: ‘The Fact of His Being There Showed How Tough a Shape the Republicans Are In Right Now’ as Trump Campaigns in Mississippi

RUSH EXCERPT:

BUTTIGIEG: “Well, I think the spell is wearing off and their strategies don’t work. If he’s not functional as a campaign surrogate, especially if even in red territory, that’s not the case. I saw this for myself a couple days ago. I was in Mississippi campaigning with Scott colomby, the democratic nominee there the day before, President Trump had been there. And the fact of his being there showed how tough a shape the Republicans are in right now that you’ve got to deploy the sitting president to territory that the conventional wisdom would have said you wouldn’t have to defend at all. So now they really aren’t sure whether or not it does any good to have him out there. I think a lot of places when he’s there, the Trump stink follows him and it attaches to the people that he’s campaigning for.”
