Ted Cruz Calls Christian Democrats Like James Talarico and Adam Hamilton ‘Tofu-Eating Charlatans’

CRUZ: "Well, I will tell you, he preached one sermon and he said, 'Kansans, you need to stop eating beef because beef is destroying the environment.' I say, the parallels between that Hamilton and James Talarico are creepy. James Talarico said he was running a vegan campaign because meat is destroying the world. I don't know about you, but I like a double cheeseburger and I really like a rib-eye steak. And these tofu-eating charlatans -- no offense to the soybean farmers here, tofu has its place, just not in my mouth -- and Hamilton says, 'Well, gosh, this is scriptural,' and I said, 'Gosh I looked in the Book of Genesis and God created all the animals in the world, including cows, and he told Adam and Eve, 'I give you these animals for your dominion that you may eat.' Apparently, Mr. Hamilton thinks God was wrong when he said that."
