MS NOW’s Alexander: Republicans Are Using Dem Spoiler Candidate Controversy in Alaska as Fodder
‘The Justice Department, which already preemptively sued to try to block the certification of that Senate race if the Republican incumbent, Dan Sullivan, loses, they’re pouncing’
EXCERPT:
ALEXANDER: “Even in Hollywood, couldn't have scripted a drama like what we are now seeing play out in Alaska's Senate race. The Republican governor there is ordering an investigation after 'The New York Times' reported about Mary Peltola, the Democrat, campaigned alleged ballot stacking operation. So to be clear, recruiting spoiler candidates is not illegal. Both parties have done it. Peltola was on the receiving end of something 2 years ago when Republicans tried to keep a rival for her House seat on the ballot when that candidate was in jail out of state. But let's be clear, few people are publicly defending this effort. We can all agree, I think it's not a good look. And Republicans are using it as fodder.”
